Setting Up Ikeono on a New Computer (Lightspeed R-Series)

Written by Brett Lang

Quick Answer

To use Ikeono on a new computer with Lightspeed R-Series, log in to your Ikeono account at ikeono.com, then install the Ikeono browser extension for Chrome or Firefox. Once installed, open (or re-open) Lightspeed and Ikeono's functionality will appear automatically.

How It Works

Ikeono connects to Lightspeed R-Series through a browser extension, not a standalone app. That means any time you set up a new computer, you need to log in to your Ikeono account through a browser and install the extension on that computer before Ikeono will show up inside Lightspeed. The extension is available for Chrome and Firefox, and the Ikeono portal automatically detects which browser you're using and shows you the correct one to install.

Step 1: Go to Ikeono and log in

Navigate to www.ikeono.com and click Login in the top right corner.

Step 2: Enter your credentials

Log in with your Ikeono username and password. If you don't remember your password, use Forgot Password to request a new one.

Step 3: Open the Browser Extension menu

Once logged in, click the 3x3 grid icon in the top right corner of the Ikeono portal. This opens a menu that includes the Browser Extension option.

Step 4: Install the extension

Click Browser Extension, then install the Ikeono extension for Chrome and/or Firefox. The portal automatically detects your browser and shows the matching extension.

Step 5: Open Lightspeed and confirm it's working

With the extension installed, go to Lightspeed and check that Ikeono's functionality is showing up. If Lightspeed was already open in another tab, close that tab and reopen Lightspeed so the extension can load.

If It Isn't Working

  • Ikeono still doesn't appear in Lightspeed after reinstalling and reopening the tab: Make sure your browser is fully up to date, then close the entire browser (not just the Lightspeed tab) and reopen it.

  • Extension isn't loading or working correctly: Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection is the most common cause of extension issues. Ad blocker extensions can also interfere — try disabling these and reloading Lightspeed.

  • Using both Chrome and Firefox: The extension is installed per browser, per computer. If you want Ikeono available in both Chrome and Firefox on the same computer, install the extension separately in each one.

  • Still not working: Contact our support team via chat. Include your browser version and a screenshot of what you're seeing — this helps us troubleshoot faster.
