Connecting Ikeono to Lightspeed R-Series API

In this article we will go through the steps of connecting Ikeono to the Lightspeed R-Series API. This is typically a once and done configuration but might need redoing if the API connection is broken.

Quick Answer:

To connect Ikeono to Lightspeed R-Series, go to Account Settings > Integrations in Ikeono, select Lightspeed R-Series, and authorize the connection from your Lightspeed account. Then map your Ikeono locations to your Lightspeed locations and save.

How It Works:

Ikeono connects to Lightspeed R-Series through an API authorization for things like work order automation, texting receipts and quotes, and automated review and NPS requests — you grant Ikeono access through the Lightspeed oAuth process, and then tell Ikeono which of your locations match up to which Lightspeed locations. This is the one-time integration setup that links the two systems' data together.

  1. Log in to your Ikeono account.

  2. Open Account Settings > Integrations
Click your name in the top right corner, then go to Account Settings > Integrations.

  3. Select Lightspeed R-Series
Click Lightspeed R-Series to pair Ikeono with it.

  4. Click Connect Lightspeed R-Series

  5. Log in to your Lightspeed R-Series account
You'll be prompted to log in with your Lightspeed credentials.

  6. Authorize the connection
Click Authorize Application to grant Ikeono access to your Lightspeed account.

  7. Map your Ikeono locations to your Lightspeed locations
Match each Ikeono location to the corresponding Lightspeed location.

  8. Click Save.

If you do not see the Connect Lightspeed in Step 4, this indicates that you've already connected Ikeono and Lightspeed. The oAuth does not need to be completed again.

If It Isn't Working

  • If you don't see Ikeono within Lightspeed: This is expected at this stage. Connecting the API doesn't make Ikeono appear inside Lightspeed. To see Ikeono in Lightspeed, install the Ikeono browser extension for your browser:

  • Authorize Application fails, or Lightspeed doesn't redirect back to Ikeono: The person connecting may not have the right Lightspeed permissions. Update their Lightspeed employee permissions, or have someone with Lightspeed admin access complete the connection.

  • If you do not see the Connect Lightspeed in Step 4, this indicates that you've already connected Ikeono and Lightspeed. The oAuth does not need to be completed again.

  • Wrong Ikeono location mapped to a Lightspeed location: You can change your location mapping at any time.

  • Checking that the connection worked: Once connected, your Lightspeed locations appear as options in Ikeono. If you don't see them, the connection didn't go through.

  • When you need to reconnect: Reconnect Lightspeed when you add a new location, when the employee who originally connected it is removed from Lightspeed, or when the authorization is revoked in Lightspeed.

  • If the connection still won't complete: Chat with Ikeono support and include a screenshot of any error you see.
