Moving your account to Ikeono's new messaging carrier

Some older accounts still send texts through our legacy carrier. Here's when we move an account to our new carrier and how the switch works.

Quick answer

If your texts are having delivery problems, we may move your account to our new carrier, which makes it much easier for us to find and fix delivery problems. The switch requires re-verifying your number: you answer an automated verification call on your business number while you're in a support chat with us.

Is my account on the legacy carrier?

You can't see this in your account. Ask our support team in a chat, and we'll check which carrier your number is registered with.

Why move?

When a customer says they didn't get your text, we look up that message with the carrier. Our new carrier gives us much more detail, so we can find the cause faster. You'll also get better SMS and MMS handling and better support.

How to switch

  1. Make sure you can answer your business phone.

  2. Start a live chat with Ikeono support (Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm Mountain Time) and say you're ready to move to the new carrier.

  3. We'll send you a 6-digit code in the chat, then you'll get an automated call on your business number. Enter the code when prompted. It's the same process as verification when you signed up.

  4. We'll confirm in the chat when the move is complete.

Will anything change?

Nothing changes in your Ikeono account, and all of your conversation history is kept. Incoming texts start working almost right away. Outgoing texts can take up to about an hour.

Please note, some accounts have phone numbers that are not eligible to work on the new carrier. In these cases, we can either leave you on the existing carrier and work through any issues or we can provide you a dedicated texting number for your account.
